MEERness | Real Baltic Sea wellness

MEERness is the all-embracing claim with which the Strandhotel Ostseeblick is positioning themselves. It belongs to the pioneers of the wellness hotel industry on the island Usedom. The unique location directly close to the beach, within the aerosol breaker zone, is all along the best condition to offer our guests health oriented arrangements. To create a unique feature, we started to create an own wellness concept for the hotel early on. As protected brand, MEERnessâ includes the holistic concept which was developed exclusively for the hotel & spa and protected by trademark law. The uniquely authentic MEERnessâ program combines the healing, vitalising forces of the sea with natural resources such as Heringsdorfs iodine brine, sea buckthorn, sea salt, honey and healing chalk.

Water is the carrying element for brine. It is extracted almost on the doorstep from a depth of 408m and is a localised remedy, which the guest can only use in the Baltic resort Heringsdorf. With the natural trace elements content and precious substances, a diverse therapeutic usage is to be found.
Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn is an important deliverer of vitamin c. The curative oils of the orange-red berry support the regeneration of the skin and act naturally. Sea buckthorn strengthens the immunity system and stimulates the circulation. In the MEERness spa, sea buckthorn finds its appliance as peeling, poultice or for oil massages.

Sea salt

Sea salt is extracted from the sea water and is known for its healing features. Important here is not only the feature of the salt, but also the effect of the peeling. It boosts the blood circulation and improves the skin texture. It acts in a cleansing way, neutralising and alleviating. Further, the peeling helps to really relax.
Honey

Honey

Next to water, woods and meadows are building the biggest areal on the island Usedom – best conditions, to gather the precious organic product honey. It stimulates the physical and mental capacity and supports the healing process of the skin thanks to its anti-bacterial ingredients. As a poultice in the steam bath, the agent intensively feed into the skin.
